Do I Need to Change My Eating Habits? My Moms Bf Is Making Me Eat Stuff I Hate?

Question by Donald: Do I need to change my eating habits? My moms bf is making me eat stuff I hate?
I’m 14 and 100 pounds. I’ve ate junk food from when i was 4 to 7 but ate a little healthier, gained about 10 pounds from when i was 8 to 10, and then started back on junk. Ok, so here’s what i eat every day

1) Breakfast – I have no time to eat breakfast so i eat 3 or 4 pretzels but when i have time i eat 3 cups of cheerios (I have an addiction to cheerios but sometimes i don’t just eat them for breakfast; i’ll eat them several times a day)

2) Lunch – I drink a Fanta orange soda with a small bag of Lays chips

3) Time till Dinner – I might eat half a bag of Lays Chips (no joke); sometimes I just eat pretzels. And I’ll down 2-3 Fantas in this time (I Loooove fanta and sunkist orange their so good)

4) Dinner – My moms bf is making me eat different foods for dinner b/c he thinks i need to eat healthier. Sometimes i have mashed potatoes (Which i HATE; their disgusting), spaghetti (Which I’ve loved since i was 8); steak (which i don’t always eat but i like it; i’ve had it many times); different vegetables (I absolutely HATE vegetables b/c they all taste the same anyway and its a terrible taste ewww)

5) I also love to eat fast food and i eat KFC or McDonalds 3 times a week (but haven’t been going lately b/c moms bf got pissed @ me for bein so picky and getting “special treatment” ugh hes such an ahole). If i eat McDonalds I get a large fry and a small coke; and if i eat KFC I ONLY eat Popcorn Chicken (I love it mmmmm :o ) and I get 3 to 4 and eat on the way home. It’ll be sometimes about $ 5 to get my stuff at McD’s and sometimes about $ 20 at KFC.

When I was 8 or 9 for breakfast I’d eat almost a whole pack of bacon (i still love it but i don’t eat it as much anymore) and I’d drink almost half a carton of Florida Orange Juice. I don’t drink orange juice anymore though but i still love it.

Btw I also excercise.. i do 25 crunches and 25 pushups a day. (The crunches before dinner; pushups @ night)

So am I a healthy teen? And should I change my eating habits?

Your eating habits are totally disgusting and completely unhealthy. Listen to your mother’s boyfriend and eat better.

excuse me, was that a typo…100 pounds? Are you freaking serious!?! I eat way less than that and never have fast food or meat (i’m a vegetarian) and I way twenty more pounds then you! well, ask a doctor, if a doctor says your fine, i guess your fine. Your not fat, but you do have to eat vegetables and fruits if your not eating them. But you can get juices now that have a serving in them (V8 juice, really good, tastes like juice, but you get vegetables! Just get the right kind though if you buy it) Maybe exercise more, and slowly eat less.

Your Mother sounds as ignorant as yourself…NO your diet is not healthy. The boyfriend is not an Ahole, he looks to care more about you than your own Mother does. As a parent myself, my boys might get a soda once a week…dining out ( Mc.Donalds) was maybe every couple of months or so, it was a “treat” for them.
You seriously need to change the way you eat, or you will have problems

Your mom’s bf is right. Sorry kid your wrong. You are NOT a healthy teen and are well on your way to being an unhealthy adult. Here’s the deal. By continuing to eat the way you do, you will become very unhealthy if you aren’t already. So, big deal that you can do 25 crunches & 25 pushups a day…what does this mean? Example: If a 130lb. person did light calesthenics like you are doing (pushups & situps) for 1 ENTIRE hour they will only lose about 207 calories. You are only doing a fraction of what someone could do in an hour. So, do the math…what you are doing is largely ineffective. It doesn’t do a thing for you. Really. And if you continue to eat the way you do…then you will without a doubt continue to become “Large & ineffective”. If you do not believe me, your mom or her bf (who is an a-hole because he cares about you!!) then just take a look at that TV show…”The Biggest Loser”. Look closely at those contestants. Sadly, how do you think that their bodies got like that? By eating healthy? By watching what & how much they ate? No, they didn’t. They ate like crap, they never or rarely exercised and it caught up with them. Sadly they’ve put themselves at great risk for all kinds of weight related health problems: diabetes, high blood pressure and ultimately death by heart attack or stroke. Yes, it is their reality. But it doesn’t have to be yours. I’m sure you are a very smart kid, but you are not being very smart with your eating habits.

Your eating habits sound very bad. Potato chips and a fanta soda for lunch? That has a nutrional value of ZERO. Your diet is full of grease and sugar and you really need to eat a little healthier. What about eating salads if you can’t stand vegetables? They have different types of salads at fast food places. What about eating more fruit since you like orange juice? What is so yicky about mashed potatoes? Most kids really like them. I think you should listen to your mom’s boyfriend and at least make an effort to TRY the foods he thinks you should eat. You don’t want to be a unhealthy little 100 lb. weakling when you grow up to be a man, you want to be strong and tall.

That sounds disgusting. How can you stand to eat food like that? I’m surprised you haven’t had a heart attack yet.

This woman saved my life almost 8 years ago. I had been in 3 treatment centers and none treated it as an addiction. I found Kay in 2002 and have not looked back. I’ve been set free from the hell of binge purging. My cardiolgist believes that I would not be alive today had I not changed to this program. I’ve been set free of the hell of addiction. I’m not cured, I’m in recovery.
